Welcome
Dear Supporter,
PiggyBankKids has had another good year expanding the medical research programme of the Jennifer Brown Research Fund, and supporting a range of community based initiatives for children and young people.
We are determined to continue this progress in 2009 and help realise the ambitions of our charity partners. The Jennifer Brown Research Fund is focusing its appeal on new posts for young PhD research scientists, and the innovative and effective role of research midwives at the Jennifer Brown Research Laboratory in Edinburgh. We are also looking to upgrade equipment and provide travel grants so our scientists can present papers and observe partner programmes at Yale and Sydney universities.
We are also extending the Granny School project in Fife, to explore how effective our refresher courses for new grandparents have been. The take up for the first courses has been amazing and we are looking at new pilot programmes to extend the range of courses on offer.
Another success for us this year is our relationship with the mentoring charity Chance UK. The mentoring matches of adults with young people provided one of the most rewarding outcomes of our work.
Please continue to help us in 2009 as our projects make a real difference.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes,
